Love in the Time of Zombies edition by Jill James Literature Fiction eBooks
Although, Zombies seem to be in vogue, and I'm not a fan. All the hoop-la over these ugly nasty creatures, I clearly don't get, but, I still, remarkably enjoyed this read. It's more of a romance then a book about zombies. Zombies are the framework for this story, but they are not the main characters. The story of Emily and Seth take over the pages, pushing what drew them together. They find love during a chaotic, violent time that has changed them both, from whom they were before the zombies were born. Ms. James came up with an original and intelligent explanation for the cause of the mutants that seemingly take over the world. Or at least take over Emily, Seth's and their band of fighters in their small world. What I liked best about this story is the noticeable changes and growth the characters experience. The world is falling apart around them, and they find a reason to survive, not just by human nature that drives them, but each other. The cast of characters is compelling. I enjoyed this read, and hope to see a sequel from Ms. James. It's a quick entertaining read. It is written in both first person and third. I preferred the third, but the first person did give a interesting look into the mind of a individual forced into a role, she found she was actually made for. It is a five star read, with exciting moments and lots of surprises.

Love in the Time of Zombies edition by Jill James Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I really can't give this a whole review because I couldn't even finish the book. I was only able to read to thirty eight percent and couldn't finish anymore. In my opinion, this book just wasn't as action pack as other zombie novels. If it was I hadn't got there by what I read. Please don't let my opinion of this book stop you as other fellow zombie readers to read this book.
Really enjoyed this book.
While zombies are the framework of this story, they are not the main story. The story revolves around Emily and Seth, who meet within a short period of time after society disintegrates. The story line is well developed, the story moves fairly quickly and well, with a fair number of twists and turns. Primary and secondary characters are well developed. Over the course of the story the author provides noticable changes and growth of the principle characters. While the story takes place as society disintegrates and the world is overrun with zombies, it is essentially about the redemptive power of love.I rated the book 4 and assigned it a sexy rating of 4.
I really enjoyed this read, both the story and the characters and I look forward to reading the other books in this series. This is an author worth keeping an eye on!
If you like the TV show The Walking Dead but wish it contained more romance (I can't be the only one!), this is the book for you! The author does a great job of combining suspenseful, shocking and gory with romantic, touching and heartfelt. I enjoyed how the stories of different groups of survivors are weaved together to support the main romance between Emily and Seth. Can't wait for the next story in the series.
This is a strange romance. Normally only readable by women, this book is enjoyable by men also. If a real zombie plague were possible, this is a good description of the results. The characters are believable, the hero's are heroic without being unbelievable, read it.
"A zombie army recruiter, strangers turned family who fight to save the human race, in the midst of a zombie Apocalypse human nature's most basic desire survives. I loved the connection between Emily and Seth. I kept rooting for them to find each other among evil and chaos. Jill Jame's Love in the Time of Zombies is a fast-paced romance that has me begging for book 2!"
This story starts when Emily meets Seth Ripley and the two have a one night stand the day they meet. The characters are kind of cliche and average, a trophy housewife for a husband who cheats and abuses her mentally, and a religious guy who stops in the middle of a battlefield to pray. The first half was just a porno and you don't get any real action until the second part. It was relatively boring and stupid. A man invents a machine that makes a frequency that only zombies and dogs can hear and makes zombies run away. This is the zombie apocalypse, so obviously not everything can be accurate, but come on-zombies are people who died and came back to life but are still dead, so how do they have better hearing than the living? And even if they did, it still makes no sense. A zombie doesn't notice limbs being torn off, it being stabbed, shot or set ablaze, but then hears a high pitched noise and decides to run away?
