I choice this rating because this book was very interesting and kept my attention and it followed the previous book so well . Also I am a fan of this style of writing.
.
I gave this book a five because it was good from beginning to end.the only thing i didnt like is that the series is over and i didnt want it to be. i have read all of them. that doesnt happen for me very often.
I really enjoyed this series and felt the story was unique and interesting. I'd definitely read it again and I'm on the look out for more books by this author.
My only complaint is sometimes her endings seem abrupt, as if the story could have been longer but was cut short.
Disappointed some with this book. It's mostly teenage type angst, "will I or won't I?" tease, and not much plot development.
Keeping you on the edge of the seat drama and suspense, she brings a good story about the lives of the people who are channeled. It is interesting how they are able to get along well with the outside world. Ready to get the next book and start reading it.
Loved the continued story and the humor, mystery, and young love. The stories uniqueness and familiarity makes it a great read.
I didn't like this book as much as I liked "The Secret of Spruce Knoll". The story is still excellent but the writing was not as good. The book had lots of typos. I don't consider myself a particularly careful reader but I was distracted by 'if's for 'is's and use of homonyms (one "throws a punch" not "throes a punch"). The editing was very poor. I don't necessarily think that the author is at fault here but the copy editor should refund the money on this one.
I also didn't feel like the author did her research. Toward the end of the book she sends the main characters to Edinburgh. Eren shows up an the airport in Colorado and asks to be put on an earlier flight. The ticketing agent puts her on what is presumably direct flight to Edinburgh which leaves in 30 minutes. I don't believe that there is a direct flight from Colorado to Edinburgh even from the Denver hub. Also international flights tend to start boarding more than 30 minutes prior to take-off yet Eren is able to check her bag (which these days requires you to take the bag to the x-ray machine yourself), get through security, and still had time to sit at the gate before the plane started boarding. As a frequent flyer this just doesn't seem realistic. There are scenarios where this could have worked but the author should have set it up that way.
The relationship development was much better in this book. I liked the introduction of Fane and Caitlin as main characters. But I would have liked to see more of the relationship between Eren and her grandfather fleshed out, after all she is living with him.
The reader was given a more in-depth glimpse of the Mayan, Irish, and to a lesser extent Romanian Societies. This created a much ricer setting but the Tibetan Societies were relegated to basically a single scene.
I guess that the elephant in the room is the steamy relationship between Eren and Aiden. There is plenty of kissing and build up. The reader looking for romance won't be disappointed. That said I grew pretty tired of reading about Eren blushing.
All in all I think that this book was rushed to completion. A few more months of editing and ironing out little details here and there would have improved the book considerably. I'd have no problem waiting two years between installments if it meant I'd get a well-written, seamless story without silly mistakes.
